HYDERABAD: S. Kumars, a leading textile group, has announced plans to open 100 stores in 100 days across the country to roll out its Carmichael House range of home linen. The company has roped in actress-model Sushmita Sen as its brand ambassador for this product range and it is planning to invest about Rs. 27 crore in marketing and advertisement of the new range. Carmichael House announced the launch of its first franchisee outlet in Hyderabad on Saturday and it proposes to establish four more outlets in the coming days. S. Kumars Nationwide Limited Chief Executive Officer, Aloke Banerjee, said the company planned to locate 100 outlets, including 30 owned by the company, by September-end. The Carmichael range included a range of home textile material-bed linen, kitchen and table linen, curtains and upholstery for homes, touching all segments of premium, mid and economy range. In addition, it was planned to bring three new designs a day that would provide the range and options for buyers. Mr. Banerjee said the company was planning a capital expenditure of Rs. 1,200 crore spread over three years that included setting up of new processing plants and expanding the product range. The company recorded total turnover of Rs. 900 crore last fiscal and was hopeful of achieving Rs. 1,200 crore this year.
