Benyamin

Benyamin is a novelist and short story writer. His book, Aadujeevitham/Goat Days (Green Books/Penguin India) was an overnight sensation that won him the Abu Dhabi Sakthi Award in 2008 and the Kerala Sahitya Academy Award in 2009. The book is now a staple in the syllabus of schools and universities across India. The Indian Express named him as one of the ten Best Young Writers of 2011. Benyamin moved to Bahrain in 1992, and has been working there since. His work has frequently appeared in Malayalam publications in Kerala, and deals with the life of Malayalis living in the Gulf.

Benyamin will speak at a session - South of the Vindhyas: Stories from the Southern States - in Chennai on February 16, 2013 at the Sir Mutha Venkatasubba Rao Concert Hall in Lady Andal School. He will also speak on In Brief: The Power of Short Fiction on February 17, 2013 at the same venue.
