Sadasiva Bramhendra Saraswathi Swamy, belonging to the 18th century, was a great yogi and composer who had written Vedanta keertanas in Sanskrit. Some of his famous works were Siva Manasika Pooja , Atma Vidya Vilasam , Bramha Tatva Prakasika and Advaita Rasa Manjari .
His works were marked by vendanta preaching and devotional content. His keertanas, though not many in numbers (only around 25), written with the mudra ‘Parama Hamsa' have become immensely popular among musicians and scholars. The first keertana Bruhi Mukundeti came to light 60 years ago through the 78 r.p.m disc sung by the legendary singer M.S. Subbalakshimi.
Manasa Sancharare and other keertanas followed gradually. Now almost all keertanas of Sadasiva Bramhendra are being sung by musicians.
Sadasiva Bramhendra's aradhanotsavam was conducted by Swarajhari Sabha of Vijayawada at Sri Sivaramakrishna Kshetram. Many senior musicians of the city participated and rendered his compositions with devotional fervour. Singers Malladi Suribabu, Malladi brothers Sriramprasad and Ravikumar, Modumudi Sudhakar, Pemmaraju Surya Rao, K.V. Bramhanandam, T. Swathi Ramya and V.R.K. Vidya rendered the keertanas Manasa Sancharare, Bhajare Gopalam, Sarvam Bramhamayam, Nahire Nahisanka, Bruhi Mukundethi , Sthiratha Nahi Nahire, Khelathi Pindande, Bhajare Raghuveeram and Chtaha Sriramam providing a melodious and devotional treat to the audience.
Instrumental support for the singers was provided by P.S. Phalgun and D. Ravikant on mridangam and P. Nageswara Rao and G. Seetaralakshmi on violin.
