He highlighted the importance of computer technology application in each discipline of engineering, including Electrical Design and Drawing. He called on the teaching fraternity to keep itself updated on advancements in technology which is necessary for bringing up the students to their fullest potential and give them confidence to face today’s challenges.

Vikasana

Efforts should be made to properly utilise the vast human resources in the country for the welfare of the upcoming generation, said television serial actor Suchindra Prasad, after inaugurating ‘KLE Vikasana-2013’, a two-day youth festival for school and college students organised by KLE Society’s S. Nijalingappa PU College on its campus.

Recent surveys have indicated that the country has been able to utilise only 16 per cent of the total human resources, which is a matter of great concern. The future of the country lies on the shoulder of the youngsters. Those in power need to think of utilising the remaining human resources properly and create better opportunities for the students.

He said the current system of education lays emphasis on just scoring marks rather than developing the overall personality of students. We must make efforts to preserve our ancient culture and Sanskrit language, he noted.

The event had arts, science and commerce exhibitions besides competition for students and cultural events every day.
