Hundreds of students of Park College of Engineering and Technology, near here, on Monday staged a protest seeking healthy food at the college hostel.
Several students took ill on Sunday after consuming food at the hostel.
A student said that a majority of the students did not attend classes on Monday.
The students submitted a list to the college management that included provision of adequate drinking water at the hostel.
They sought proper bills for all payments made to the college, including the co-curricular fee, and permit students to take semester examinations even if they had arrears.
They alleged that the Wi-Fi facility in the college was not working properly.
Students were not being allowed to use sports equipment.
They sought industrial visits every year, and urged the college to conduct symposiums, workshops, and sports events.
They alleged that scholarships were not being distributed properly.
The auditorium should be expanded, and more books be added to college library.
The protest was called off later after the management agreed to meet most of their demands.
The students said they would attend classes from Wednesday.
