Former Congress MLA from north-west Delhi’s Model Town area Kanwar Karan Singh has been booked for assault and molestation on complaint of a widow, police said on Wednesday.
According to the complainant, Singh was residing as a tenant in a house owned by her. “She had gone to demand rent from the former MLA when he along with a friend allegedly tore her clothes and then threatened her with a knife,” said a police official.
An FIR in this regard was registered on charges of assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty and criminal intimidation under sections 354 and section 506 of IPC, he added.
