‘Govt. keen on making optimum use of solar energy’

Telangana Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy said he would make efforts to introduce solar energy in all police stations and other buildings of the Home Department.

Responding to a request by the organisers of the Eco Sure Solar Conference here on Monday, he said it would be discussed and decided upon soon.

“Earlier, due to lack of awareness about solar energy, we were lagging behind. Now, there is a proposal to set up a solar park either at Mahabubnagar or Nizamabad,” he said, adding that Telangana had belied the doomsday predictions by ensuring continuous power supply.

The Government is intent on using solar energy to the optimum level, by according it priority. A total of 56 industries have got permissions through the single window clearance of the new industrial policy, he informed.
