The 10th anniversary of the Heart Care Foundation and the World Heart Day will be jointly celebrated here on September 27. The celebrations will be held at Avenue Centre, Panampilly Nagar and the programmes are scheduled to begin at 11 a. m.
The Foundation’s project to rehabilitate people who have undergone cardiac surgery and angioplasty and a complex for creating awareness on heart diseases, data collection, risk analysis and lifestyle modification classes will be launched as part of the celebrations, said a press release here.
Cardinal George Alancherry, head of the Syro-Malabar Church, will be the chief guest at the function. The Cardinal will present the lifetime achievement award constituted by the Heart Care Foundation to Dr. Mathew Samuel, eminent cardiac surgeon. The award consists of a gold medal and citation. Dr. Samuel is a pioneer in the angioplasty treatment in India. ‘Hrudaya Sangamam 2015’, jointly organised by the foundation and Lisie Hospital will also be held.
