Union Minister M.K. Alagiri, accompanied by Minister of State D. Napoleon, visited the DMK functionaries detained in the prison here on Wednesday.

According to party sources, Mr. Alagiri had called on the arrested party functionaries including Esakkimuthu, Minnalkodi, Vijayan, Eswaran, Malaichami and his doctor friend S. Navaneethakrishnan.

They were all detained under various criminal offences, including land grab complaints. Though media persons waited outside the prison, the Union Minister said that there was nothing much to share with reporters.
