All trains to Chennai cancelled

All trains, including special trains originating and terminating in Chennai Central and Chennai Egmore have been cancelled until further advice. According to Southern Railway officials here, the step is in view of incessant rains and flooding of the track in Chennai and surrounding areas.

The passengers under Thiruvananthapuram railway division can contact telephone numbers 138, 182 and 0471-2320012 for more information regarding trains. Refund for the cancelled train can be done in the next 48 hours.

Train 125122 Ernakulam-Barauni Raptisagar Express scheduled to leave at 10.15 a.m. and Train 13352 Alappuzha Dhanbad Express scheduled to depart at 6 a.m. on Friday have been cancelled. To help the stranded passengers in Chennai, the Railways operated three Special trains, including to Kanyakumari and Mangaluru.

Meanwhile, the Kerala Tourism Development Corporation (KTDC) has temporarily closed its hotel “Rain Drops” in Chennai due to the incessant rains, a release said.
