The Infosys Foundation has come forward to identify the talents of youths particularly in dance, vocal, and other related fine arts, said T.V. Murali, Honorary secretary of the Tiruchi Kendra of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan.

Speaking on the sidelines of the anniversary of the Sadguru Thyagaraja Aradhana organised under the auspices of the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan here on Sunday, Mr. Murali said the foundation, in co-ordination with the Bhavan’s Tiruchi Kendra, would identify and encourage talent among the young and upcoming artistes. He said the aradhana was celebrated for the fourth consecutive year and there had been a growing support from the artistes from year to year.

Earlier, 28 artistes participated in the aradhana and rendered the pancharatna kritis. The artistes included 20 vocalists, mostly women, besides accompanying artistes. Kasim Babu, artiste, in his felicitation, spoke on the importance of pancharatna kritis and its influencing impact on not only the artistes but also the listeners.

J.T. Chari, Director – Projects of the Bhavan, said a concert by Kadri Gopalnath would be held on Aruna theatre premises on January 31 under the joint auspices of the Kendra and Infosys Foundation.
