Rich tributes paid to Ambedkar

Government chief whip Dronamraju Srinivas described Dr.B.R.Ambedkar as an embodiment of freedom and unity. The Constitution he authored integrated people of different language, colour, caste and religion.

Participating in the 123rd birth anniversary celebrations of B.R.Ambedkar organised by the Social Welfare Department here on Sunday, he said that Ambedkar played a crucial role in the upliftment of the downtrodden on the social and educational fronts.

District Collector V.Seshadri said that Ambedkar ushered in a social revolution by bringing in unity in diversity among the divergent linguistic races in the country.

Visakha North constituency MLA Tynala Vijaya Kumar said that said that Ambedkar’s dream of empowerment of the SCs and STs became a reality with the SC/ST Sub-Plan funding getting legislative teeth.

CPI district secretary J.V.Satyanarayana Murthy paid rich tributes to the late B.R.Ambedkar whose dreams concerning the SCs and STs are yet to be realised. The oppression of the dalits in the rural India continues even today, he regretted.

At a separate meeting, the Waltair Division Railway Contract Workers Union executive committee member Padala Ramana said that the rulers of the day have surrendered to the World Bank which was dictating terms inimical to the ideology of Ambedkar.

Visakhapatnam Port Trust SC&ST Employees Welfare Association observed the birth anniversary of Ambedkar at the local Convent Junction Circle. Speaking on the occasion, Port Trust Chairman Ajeya Kallam and GVMC Commissioner M.V.Sathyanarayana paid rich tributes by describing him as the architect of the Indian Constitution.

Andhra University vice-chancellor G.S.N.Raju garlanded the statue of Ambedkar and paid tributes to him describing his as a facilitator of social justice.

He hoped that the education system would be tuned in accordance with the vision of Ambedkar.

Industries in the city paid rich tributes to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar on the occasion of his birth anniversary on Sunday.

At a meeting organised by the RINL at Ukkunagaram, its Chairman-cum-Managing Director A.P. Choudhary said that Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar was a symbol of hard work, dedication, commitment, love and humanity.

He was a great nationalist, political thinker, reformer, revolutionary and prolific writer with prodigious ideas, he added.

Earlier, Mr. Choudhary, Director (Finance) P. Madhusudan, Director (Commercial) T.K. Chand, Director (Personnel) Y.R. Reddy garlanded the statue and portrait of Dr. Ambedkar.
