Communist Party of India national secretary D. Raja has asked the voters to boycott the Congress and the BJP in the Lok Sabha elections.
Campaigning here on Friday for CPI candidate R. Viswanathan, he said the ruling United Progressive Alliance was responsible for the economic crisis in the country. Its neo-liberal and anti-people policies had stalled the growth, affecting all sections.
The BJP’s programmes and policies were similar to those of the Congress. If the BJP came to power, it would follow the same policies, backing corporate houses. Moreover, it was an arm of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, which was pursuing divisive policies. Hence, the voters should boycott both parties.
