Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS University) has announced to conduct counselling on its own for MBBS third batch admission in its Sri Padmavathi Medical College for Women for the academic year 2016-17.

It may be recalled that the admission for the first two batches were conducted through the NTRUHS and the varsity has decided this year to go ahead on its own, after the Government of India gave its nod for the third batch of MBBS with an intake of 150 seats. As per the State Government’s G.O., SVIMS will admit students based on AP Eamcet-2016 ranking for 85 p.c. of merit seats (127), of which a further 85 p.c. (108 seats) will be filled with candidates of SVU local region and the remaining 15 p.c. (19 seats) is unreserved. The varsity has already released a notification inviting applications through AP Online Mee-Seva centres and the last date for the receipt is July 5. The counselling schedule will be announced on the institute’s website http://svimstpt.ap.nic.in and individual call letters will be dispatched to the short-listed candidates. The 15 p.c. (23 seats) earmarked for NRI/NRI sponsored seats will be filled based on the rank secured in NEET.
