Trains cancelled, diverted due to rain

Several trains were cancelled or partially cancelled or diverted owing to the heavy rain that battered Chennai over the past two days, leading to water-logging at the Chennai Central Railway Station.

Train Nos.12077 / 12078 Chennai Central –Vijayawada-Chennai Central Janshatabdi Express, no. 17643 Chennai Central-Kakinada Port Circar Express, no. 12669 Chennai Central-Chapra Ganga Kaveri Express and no. 22860 Chennai Central-Puri Express were cancelled on November 16, while 12711/12712 Vijayawada-Chennai Centre-Vijayawada Pinakini Express and 57240/57239 Bitragunta-Chennai Central-Bitragunta Passenger were partially cancelled between Gudur and Chennai Centre on Monday.

No. 16864 Manargudi-Bagat Ki Kothi Express was diverted to run via Chennai Egmore, Perambur and Reniguta and No. 15902 Dibrugarh-Bangalore Express and no. 12851 Trivandrum Central-Guwahsati were diverted to run via Renigunta and Melpakkam.

No. 12851 Bilaspur-Chennai Central Express, No. 12269 Mata Vaishno Devi Katra-Chennai Central Andaman Express, No. 12269 Chennai Central-Hazrat Nizamuddin Duronto and No. 12842 Chennai Central-Howrah Coromandel Express. were diverted via Renigunta and Gudur.
