Case study of Krishna district done to adopt it in Tanzania

A World Bank team has completed a study on Aadhaar-enabled services in fertilizer distribution, public distribution system and distribution of pensions during its 10-day visit to Krishna district.

The team, comprising Sunita Chopra and Vasumathi Anandan, took up the case study of Krishna district in order to adopt it in Tanzania, one of the East African countries.

In an interaction with the World Bank team, Krishna District Collector A. Babu said experts from Tanzania recently did a study on Aadhaar-enabled services, distribution of pensions, biometric technology adopted in management of government hospitals, Integrated Child Development Services and other welfare schemes.

Appreciation from Centre

The World Bank team was told that the Union Government appreciated the Krishna district authorities for the pilot projectsin fertilizer distribution and National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme.

The team also documented the biometric system and its use in banking services during a meet with bankers on Monday.
