The State government will start a company to attract investments from India and abroad.

Disclosing this during an interaction with industrialists at a meeting, that was organised by the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) and Mysuru Industries Association (MIA), Minister for Large and Medium Scale Industries R.V. The company, which will also have bureaucrats, will, however, be steered by industry representatives.

Presently, Mr. Deshpande said that he goes across India and abroad inviting industrialists to invest in Karnataka. After the company is established, the task will be assigned to the company.

Mr. Desphande also said that the State government is planning to unveil a pharma policy soon. The policy, which Mr Deshpande said, will give a boost to manufacturing of medical equipments also, will be discussed in the next Cabinet meeting.

The State government had proposed to start a pharmaceutical park in the State.

“Though the government was considering Mangaluru, Hassan, Yadgir and Dharwad and Mysuru among the various possible locations, it has now emerged that Mysuru will be the most likely location to establish the park,” he added.

Minister for Large and Medium Scale Industries R.V. Deshpande said that all departmental clearances have been given for the tower being built in Infosys campus in Mysuru.

He said Infosys was building the tower at a cost of Rs. 80 crore to Rs. 90 crore.

Mr. Deshpande said that Home Department has agreed to establish a new police station in Hebbal industrial area here and Infosys will be constructing a police station on the civic amenities site provided by Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board.
