Businessman held on charge of misbehaving with policewoman

He was recently booked for encouraging underage driving

Businessman Mohammed Nisham, who was recently booked after uploading a video of his nine-year-old son driving a Ferrari F 430 on YouTube, has had another run in with the law. He has been arrested on charge of misbehaving with a policewoman on duty here on Thursday night.

Nisham, who runs a tobacco and real estate business, was stopped by the police for a routine check while he was driving his Rolls Royce at Sakthan Nagar. In a fit of rage, Nisham flung open the door of his car and hauled the policewoman into the car. The police said Nisham was drunk at the time.

More police officers reached the spot and rescued the woman sub-inspector. Nisham’s wife was in the car at the time of the incident.

The police charged Section 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of duty); Section 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty); Section 294 (B) (sings, recites or utters any obscene song, ballad or words, in or near any public place); Section 506 (1) (punishment for criminal intimidation); Section 279 (rash driving or riding on a public way); Section 185 (illegal purchase or bid for property offered for sale by authority of public servant) of the Indian Penal Code against him. He was produced before First Class Judicial Magistrate Court and remanded.

Nisham was recently booked under Section 23 of the Juvenile Justice Act (punishment for cruelty to child) and sections of the Motor Vehicle Act for allegedly encouraging underage driving. He had been was arrested and let out on bail.

The clipping uploaded by Nisham on YouTube showed his son driving a Ferrari reportedly on a private road inside the colony they live at Puzhakkal here. His five-year-old brother was in the passenger seat. The video had gone viral and sparked outrage.
