The State government is reported to have engineered a late-night reshuffle in the top echelons of law enforcement.

It has reportedly shifted out B. Sandhya as Additional Director General of Police, South Zone, and posted her as chief of the State Police Training.

Reports suggested that Transport Commissioner Anil Kanth is likely to replace her.

Additional Director General of Police K. Padmakumar is presumed to succeed Mr. Kanth as Transport Commissioner.

Inspector General of Police, Kochi Range, P. Vijayan is expected to be replaced by Inspector General of Police Vijay Sakhare.

Mr Vijayan is slated to take charge as IG, Administration, Police Headquarters.

Police unaware of rejig

The State Police Information Centre said it was unaware of the reshuffle. Officers were yet to get a copy of the orders, if any.

Television channels scrolled the details of the supposed reshuffle in their bulletins. None has assigned any reason for the reported restructuring.
