Uttarakhand Governor Aziz Qureshi will assume additional charge as the Governor of Uttar Pradesh on June 23.
Mr. Qureshi was given the additional charge of U.P. Governor after B.L. Joshi resigned from the post on June 16 after a nudge from the Centre to some Governors appointed by the previous UPA government to quit.
The tenure of Mr. Joshi had expired a few months ago and he was sworn in again for another term.
Mr. Qureshi will be administered the oath of office as the UP Governor by Allahabad High Court Chief Justice D.Y. Chandrachood at Raj Bhawan Lucknow at 6 p.m. on June 23, an official release said in Dehradun on Friday.
