Jharkhand Chief Minister Arjun Munda on Monday vowed to give corruption-free governance through anti-corruption drive, transparency and accountability.
“The vigilance bureau is active and making continuous efforts to curb corruption and the result is before you as action is being initiated against people, irrespective of their positions,” Mr. Munda said after unfurling the flag to mark the 65th Independence Day in Ranchi.
Asserting that his BJP/JMM/AJSU/JDU government was committed to give a corruption-free and clean administration with accountability, he said vacancies were being filled up for the post of Lokayukt, Chief Information Commission and the heads of Jharkhand Employees commission and State Human Rights Commission.
Stating that the State’s surrender policy to control extremism has received a good response, several naxalites had been influenced by this policy and accepted it to join the mainstream.
Mr. Munda said the police were provided with the latest weapons and equipment to deal with naxalites and other criminal elements with confidence and provide security to every citizen in the state.
The Chief Minister said the government has plans to open more industrial training institutes in naxal-affected and other backward areas to enable employment opportunities to the youth.
Attributing political instability for not reaching the peak of progress as envisaged after creation of the state, Mr. Munda said he was confident that the government would fulfil the aspirations of the people and efforts were already being made in that direction.
