13 killed in Tripura ambush
AGARTALA, MARCH 3. Eleven 11 CRPF jawans and two civilians were
killed and three critically injured in an ambush by suspected
All-Tripura Tiger Force militants at Bampur in south Tripura
district today.
The remaining members of the CRPF convoy retaliated but it was
not known whether there was any casualty among the militants, who
decamped with one light machine gun, four self- loading rifles
and four carbines.
The Inspector General of Police, Mr. Selim Ali, and the
Additional Director General of CRPF, Mr. G. Jha, rushed to the
spot with a contingent of the CRPF, Assam Rifles and Tripura
State Rifles jawans to launch combing operations.
