Stay order on test for APP posts suspended
By Our Legal Correspondent
HYDERABAD, MARCH 3. A Division Bench of the A.P. High Court,
comprising Mr. B. Subhashan Reddy and Mr. Justice G. Bikshapati,
on Saturday suspended the interim orders of single judge who
stayed the examination to be held on Sunday for recruitment of
Assistant Public Prosecutors in various courts in the State. With
the Division Bench orders, the test will be held as scheduled on
Sunday.
It may be recalled that the single judge on Friday admitted a
writ petition by Ms. Sujatha and stayed the examination. The
Government filed a writ appeal and it was moved as urgent house
motion. The Bench sat specially at the residence of Mr. Justice
Subhashan Reddy at 12.30 pm on Saturday and heard at length the
arguments of Government Pleader for Home and counsel for the
petitioner.
The Bench speaking through Mr. Justice Subhashan Reddy felt that
there was no irreparable injury caused to the petitioner as she
was not eligible as on 1-7-1999 to appear for the selection
process.
