Vengaboys bring fizz and music

THE VENGABOYS are coming. Yeah, they did not go to Ibeza. They decided to make it to India yet again. And this time, Chennai. Live at the YMCA, Royapettah on March 11.

Trust MTV to bring them in the Pepsi Vengabus that will be going around the city's hangouts, carrying VJs, with slogan contests and opportunities galore for Chennaiites to ``Meet and Greet the Vengaboys'' at the venue of the concert.

When Vengaboys take to stage, crooning ``We like to party,'' next Sunday, there will be a long list of corporate sponsors, unwinding, letting their hair down, like they did at the Lou Bega show last year.

The Vengaboys have been all round the world ever since they went ``Up and Down,'' the single they brought out in 1998. That was after the duo of Danski and Delmundi (who used to perform at Spanish beach parties between 1992 and 1997) met up with Kim, Roy, Denice and Robin.

Thereafter, the Vengaboys hit it really big when they released their ``Up and Down-The Party Album'' along with their next single ``We like to party.''

Party animals who missed Vengaboys last year when the group took stage in Mumbai and Bangalore, finally will have reason for their hearts to ``go Shananana.''

Last year, when the Vengaboys made an appearance at the Pepsi W2K World Millennium Concert, it was a total sell-out in the two cities.

This time, Pepsi has reserved the Vengaboys for Chennai and Delhi the next day.

Chennai because Pepsi believes that it is ``fast becoming the most happening city of the South.'' And probably because there would be more Dils here craving and crooning for more. More music. More timepass. More parties.

You like to party? Hang with the Vengaboys... Ooops! Hang out with the Vengaboys.
