Cong. rally in Uttaranchal

DEHRA DUN, MARCH 3. The Opposition Congress party in Uttaranchal today organised a rally against the ruling BJP government in the State charging it with ``non-performance''.

``This is our first rally against the non-performance and anti- people policies of the Nityanand Swami Government,'' the State Congress president, Mr. Harish Rawat told PTI. He accused both the Centre and the State Government of dithering on major issues such as delimitation, division of assets and liabilities and permanent Capital.

The rally, he said, would sound a warning to the State Government to either perform or quit. ``We are completing the fourth month since Uttaranchal came into being. But till now, no serious move has been made by the State Government to meet the aspirations of the people,'' he added.
