Freshers briefed at Anna University

CHENNAI, JULY 18. The annual ceremony of `welcoming' freshers was held at the Anna University today. Students who have been admitted to engineering UG courses were asked to assemble at the Vivekananda auditorium of the College of Engineering.

Parents and guardians who accompanied the students were listening to the proceedings from an adjacent hall. The students were given an introduction into the working and facilities at the institution.

The deans of various faculties addressed the students, which was preceded by a video presentation of the Vice-Chancellor, Dr. A. Kalanidhi's welcome remarks. The students were also shown around the facilities that they would have to use in the first two semesters.

Parents who accompanied their wards to the Anna University's freshers welcome ceremony, wait an adjacent hall as their wards are briefed by faculty deans on Wednesday.
