Time out for solutions

Have you ever heard of a story of love, sweat and microchips? It may sound a little ridiculous, but then that was one big fact HCL Infosystems Ltd revealed to its finance segment customers of Coimbatore during the technology seminar on `IT enabled banking' held recently.

Abraham Varghese, RCEM, Coimbatore operations said HCL's story was all about putting several young minds together and setting them on fire for a quality performance. "Quality is our mantra. Wherever we go and whatever we do, we ensure that quality is carried all the way. We want to spread the message of an easy approach to the bankers as well."

This is the first time that the company conducted a seminar for the banking and insurance sector. "Generally, we have combined meets, but the idea of an exclusive meet had been in our minds for long," stated P Naresh General Manager, Southern Operations.

The audience was told how information technology helps in the banking system. The seminar was split into four sessions with the opening talk on IT trends in banking followed by Quality - the HCL way, voice of the customers and finally the feedback session.

Among the topics discussed were the challenges in design and infrastructure development for core banking and online banking and the fierce competitions in the banking sector. Current customers look for an easy way out like `anywhere and any time banking'. `Transaction security and disaster recovery' forms paramount importance for online banking and throws up the maximum challenges for network designers.

More such solutions to tackle the situation were offered.

With a pool of expertise for network design, implementation and solution building for various applications and with 167 direct support locations manned by over 1000 direct company engineers, HCL is quite comfortably placed to support the finance segment spread across the country.
