Simply Lazeez
At a time when people are crazy about Italian and Mediterranean food, there are some who believe that Indian food is still the best. Lazeez Affaire, the stand-alone restaurant-cum-bar in Greater Kailash-II is among the latest additions to the Capital's list of eateries.
The two-floor restaurant with a 50-seat cover has a combination of pristine white and red wine colour.
You can start either with a soup like yakhni shorba and dal shorba or chillers such as jal-zeera and lassi. In the heat the chillers serve as welcome thirst quenchers. The yakhni shorba is made from lamb blended subtly with fresh herbs and spices.
Then there are kababs, both vegetarian and non-vegetarian.
While paneer ka sula, paneer kurkure and tandoori phool are vegetarian preparations, meat eaters can choose from kakori kabab, murg malai tikka and kalmi kabab. A nice way to get a taste of all the types on offer is to order the kabab platter.
These options may be filling in themselves, but if you prefer the ritual meal that is not complete without rice, a must-try is the Hyderabadi biryani, or the nawabi tarkari biryani.
After such royal indulgence, the phirni serves as a fitting finale.
