Tired of eating fish curry every day? Then go try some Lucknowi dum ka murgh in the evening at the Yuvaraj restaurant at Hotel Poonja International. Every evening the restaurant comes alive with dishes from all over north India, plus Continental, Chinese, south Indian dishes. You also have traditional kori rotis and even Mangaloreans' favourite sukka sanna, all prepared by expert chefs at the hotel.
Spice is the highlight of all the dishes served at this restaurant. "Indian spices give aroma and colour to the dishes. Some of them are directly responsible for the special taste the hotel has to offer," says Kumar, the hotel general manager. The ambience at Yuvaraj restaurant goes well with what the kitchen has to offer. The interiors are contemporary with a rich combination of mahogany, ebony and teak furniture. There are indoor plants at every corner.
"Good food, when consumed in a pleasing atmosphere, tastes better. In my restaurant I make sure that the diners get good music as well food," says Prabhakar Poonja, the proprietor.
The menu strikes a good balance between non-vegetarian and vegetarian dishes. The restaurant also has a bar called High Place for those who want to really chill out. It is air conditioned and enclosed to ensure the privacy of its patrons. It also serves mocktails for kids and teetotallers.
