Nikhila Kesavan works as an actor and director in English theatre in Chennai. She is a committee member of The Madras Players, the oldest English Theatre group in India. As a director, her body of work essentially comprises original stage adaptations. She received much acclaim for her stage adaptation and direction of Chetan Bhagat’s bestseller, Five Point Someone . Produced by The Madras Players in 2007, Five Point Someone was repeatedly staged in Chennai and other cities for well over a year and featured at The HinduMetroplus Theatre Fest in Hyderabad.
Nikhila’s other directorial ventures include her stage adaptations of Shandana Minhas’ Tunnel Vision and Jhumpa Lahiri’s A Temporary Matter . Most recently, she adapted and directed Serious Men , Manu Joseph’s novel which won the 2010 The Hindu Literary Prize.
