Bajaj Auto Q3 net up 4.67% at over Rs. 901 crore

Bajaj Auto Ltd on Thursday reported a 4.67 per cent increase in net profit to Rs. 901.49 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2015-16.

The company had posted net profit of Rs. 861.24 crore in the October-December quarter of the previous fiscal.

Net sales during the third quarter of the current fiscal were down 1.02 per cent at Rs. 5,463.2 crore, as against Rs 5,520.01 crore in the year-ago quarter, the company said in a BSE filing.

Volume declines

In terms of volume, sales during the quarter declined by 3.35 per cent to 9,51,498 units as against 9,84,520 units sold in the same period last fiscal.

The company said its motorcycles during the period grew by 86 per cent at 2,15,000 units.

Its exports revenue during the quarter was at Rs. 2,281 crore.

Bajaj Auto stock was trading at Rs. 2,318, down 1.26 per cent, on BSE.
