Jawa bike deliveries to begin by March-end

Classic Legends Pvt. Ltd., a subsidiary of M&M, will start delivering Jawa motorcycles from March-end, said CEO Ashish Joshi. Currently, the company has stopped accepting online booking for Jawa and Jawa 42 motorcycles. However, customers can book these two-wheelers at dealers’ showrooms for a refundable deposit of ₹5,000.

Mr. Joshi inaugurated three Jawa dealerships in Chennai as part of the firms plan to open 105 outlets by February 15. This would cover 83 cities and 80% of the motorcycle market. Later, it would enter B and C cities, he said.

Without disclosing the number of bookings received so far, he said: “The response is overwhelming. We have bookings for both the models in the same ratio. If you book a bike today, you would get it not earlier than November.”

The company is also planning to sell merchandise such as T-shirts, jackets and helmets.
