MAHE launches four new online courses

Registrations open for HCL Jigsaw

HCL has announced that registrations are now open for the third edition of HCL Jigsaw, a virtual, pan-India programmed that aims to build a community of young problem-solvers. HCL Jigsaw assesses school students from Classes 6 to 9 on key 21st-century skills including research, critical thinking, and communication, and helps them apply these to solve real-world challenges. Anant Technology Prize 2022

Anant National University (AnantU), Ahmedabad, has announced the Anant Technology Prize 2022, an annual platform for high school students to think, intervene and offer technological solutions to climate change.

Eligibility: Students who have completed their high school (passed 10+2 examination) with PCM in or after 2020 with a minimum of 70% marks. Students can participate either as individuals or in groups.

MSc(Eng) Advanced Control and Systems Engineering

The University of Sheffield, the U.K., invites applications for its two-year full-time MSc Advanced Control and Systems Engineering (with Industry) course starting in September 2022.

Eligibility: First or upper second class honours degree (or international equivalent) in Engineering, Mathematics or Science. Overall IELTS score of 7.5 with a minimum of 7.0 in each component.

Scholarships at Strathclyde Business School

Strathclyde Business School, Glasgow, will offer a number of MBA Deans Excellence 50% Scholarships for September 2022. The award covers 50% of the Full Time MBA tuition fee. Scholarships will be awarded on a monthly rolling basis from the end of April 2022.

Deadline: August 31

Eligibility: Applicants must hold an offer of a place on the Full-time MBA September 2022 programme. Awards will only be made to candidates who have undergone a successful interview. Applications are invited from candidates who are prepared to act as ambassadors for the Strathclyde FT MBA, can demonstrate how they would contribute to bring the class together through teamwork to create a community to achieve the ultimate learning (and social) experience for the group as a whole. Leadership/management skills or potential, overall application quality, and financial need will also be considered.

Applications open at IFIM Law School

IFIM Law School has announced admissions to its undergraduate BBA LLB and LLB programmes. AICTE launches internship portal

Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan announced the launch of AICTE's internship portal (https://internship.aicte-india.org) to help students get suitable internship opportunities to integrate classroom knowledge and theory with practical application. The AICTE said that more than one lakh internship opportunities would be provided by reputed companies.

FICCI ARISE delegation visits London

A delegation of 60+ members of the FICCI Alliance for Re-Imagining School Education (FICCI ARISE), which included educationists and policy makers, visited London to participate in the global platforms BETT and Learnit.

GetWork club launched

GetWork,a SaaS-based end-to-end campus placement platform, recently announced the launch of an exclusive GetWork club for its userbase of college students. Placements at IIM-Kozhikode

The Post Graduate Programme in Business Leadership (PGP-BL) offered by the Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode witnessed a strong placement season for the graduating batch of 2022. The second batch of PGP-BL achieved 100% placements in record time. The average salary saw an increase of 20.1% over last year.

Mirae Asset Foundation offers scholarships

Mirae Asset Foundation has joined hands with FINX (ID Finxpert Skilling Foundation) to impart quality education and training to students and make them job-ready for BFSI sector companies. Recently the foundation in partnership with FINX offered a 100% scholarship to 300 graduates from 15 leading colleges from Mumbai University, who received an industry-recognised Chartered Financial Expert Certification and were titled Mirae Asset Scholars.

IIIT-Delhi collaborates with Raxter.io

Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology Delhi (IIIT-Delhi) has partnered with Raxter.io (RAx) to promote IT-based research among young scholars. As part of this collaboration, RAx will sponsor and support select Ph.D scholars from IIIT-Delhi for their research projects and also assist them in exploring related research problems in the broader field of Natural Language Processing, Recommendation Systems, and Knowledge Graphs. Dr. Tanmoy Chakraborty, Head of Centre for AI at IIIT-Delhi and Laboratory for Computational Social Systems, will be the PI from the institute.

Awards

The Study L'école Internationale School Puducherry, run by the Dr. K.M. Cherian Educational Society, has been awarded The Education Icon of the Year 2021 by Education Today All India.

Abhyavartin Selvam, a student of B. Tech + M. Tech (Nanotechnology) Intg. at Amity Institute of Nanotechnology, Amity University, Noida, Uttar Pradesh, won the first prize at the third “New Generation Ideation Contest 2021”, conducted by Hindustan Petroleum Green R&D Centre, Bengaluru, in the undergraduate category. He proposed the idea of “Metal Organic Framework Based Janus Solar Absorber for Effective Photothermal Desalination” in the subcategory “Waste Water Treatment and Waste Water Recycling Technologies".

Wadhwani Foundation partners with Magic Bus

Wadhwani Foundation and Wadhwani Catalyst have announced a three-year strategic partnership with Magic Bus to ensure that graduating Magic Bus students continue to be trained well in 21st-century life skills and placed in aspirational job roles and get sustained employment for at least six months.

Workshop at IMS Ghaziabad

IMS Ghaziabad organised a Workshop on “Developing Market Readiness and Employability Skills” in collaboration with Ghaziabad Management Association. Runway show at WUD

Students from F^3 (Fashion Cube), the club of Fashion Design students at the World University of Design students hosted a runway show in the foundation studio of university campus. Rakesh Vaid, Former Chairman AEPC and Vice Chairman, ATDC, was among the special guests. The event aimed to welcome new opportunities and mould fashion as per the need of the hour.

Safalta launches new initiative

Safalta, an outcome-based learning platform, is launching its ‘Classes se Career tak’ initiative to bridge the accessibility gap in education and provide a bi-lingual model for Classes 9-12. The course module covers all boards and provides specialised classes in all subjects. The six-day module involves live interactive classes with recorded backup and lifetime access.

Conference on NEP

Preeminent Education and Research Association (PERA), Pune, in association with Somaiya Vidyavihar University organised a national conference on “Opportunities and Challenges in the Implementation of New National Education Policy 2020 for Educational Institutions in Maharashtra”. Universities such as MIT ADT University, MGM University Aurangabad, DY Patil International University, Ajeenkya DY Patil University, Vishwakarma University, FLAME University, Vijaybhoomi University, Sanjay Ghodawat University, MIT World Peace University were among the participantss.

WWI hosts convocation

Whistling Woods International (WWI) saw over 750+ students graduate recently. The Maestro Award 2022 was also conferred on veteran filmmaker and actor Rakesh Roshan and musician Naveen Kumar. Apurva Purohit, businesswoman, author and co-founder of Aazol gave the keynote address. Tania Shaw, Programme Head - School of Vocational Education, the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, also participated.

Culinary Lab established

Bangalore North Ladies Circle 14 and Bangalore North Round Table 25 have helped Brindavan Education Trust set up a Culinary Lab, which will be a pre-vocational training centre to train kids with learning disabilities.

RVU signs MoU with Mu Sigma

Bengaluru-based RV University (RVU) and Mu Sigma have signed an MoU to offer a unique four-year B.Sc. (Hons.) programme in Decision Sciences. This programme, offered by the School of Computer Science and Engineering, allows students to learn from the University and train as apprentices at Mu Sigma as well.
