Chandni Chowk is one of seven Lok Sabha constituencies of the national capital. Bordered by New Delhi, North West , North East, East and West Delhi, the Chandni Chowk constituency has ten assembly seats – Adarsh Nagar, Shalimar Bagh, Shakur Basti, Tri Nagar, Wazirpur , Model Town, Sadar Bazar, Chandni Chowk. Matia Mahal and Ballimaran. Of the 5.82 lakh population, 24.5% belong to Scheduled Castes and no Scheduled Tribes (ST). The district’s sex ratio is 892 and literacy is 85.14%. Established in 1956, Chandni Chowk has alternately voted for the Indian National Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party. Its incumbent MP is Dr. Harsh Vardhan.
