Bengaluru Central is one of the 28 Lok Sabha constituencies in Karnataka, India. It comprises eight legislative assembly segments. The constituency houses both the IT corridor and some of the areas densely populated with urban poor and crumbling civic infrastructure. Incumbent MP from the BJP P.C. Mohan has never lost the seat since it was carved out in 2008. It is among the most diverse constituencies in the State with a sizeable minority population, including Muslims, Christians Jains, Marwaris and Tamil speakers. The Congress has never fielded a non-Muslim candidate from the seat and this elections, Mansoor Ali Khan is the only Muslim candidate in the fray from any mainstream party in the State.
