What is the controversy? The theatre owners stopped making reservations over the connection of a co-producer of the movie to Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
The producers of the movie issued a clarification about what they termed a misinformation campaign by some vested interests against the production company.
Former PMK MLA and Tamizhar Vaazhvurimai Katchi leader, Panruti T. Velmurugan, took exception to attempts to get the movie released despite pro-Tamil groups opposing the film.
The uncertainty over the release of the movie on Deepavali day continues even as the producer, Ayngaran International, claimed to have met the demands of various Tamil outfits.
