Love is in the air

Venkat G. Swamy’s debut film, Kanden Kadhal Konden (KKK), will launch ‘Sun Music’ Bala into films. “I quit TV in 2014 and worked in a few short films. This film is a love story where the lead pair travel from Chennai to Kodaikanal to get married. But the registrar says that they need to wait for 14 days to register their marriage. What happens in those 14 days forms the story,” says Bala. KKK is releasing on Valentine’s Day.

Three’s company

Malayalam superstar Mammootty’s nephew Maqbool Salmaan is all set to make an entry into Kollywood. Director Hashim Marikar will launch him and he is paired with three heroines — Paoli Dam ( Hate Story ), Harshika Poonacha and Sakshi Dwivedi. “Maqbool, Harshika and Sakshi play students, while Paoli plays the role of an actress. A very important role, that of a writer, is being played by Malayalam actress Lena. The film is yet to be titled and is a thriller, says Hashim.

A new role

I t is with a view of being in complete of his career that Vishnu Vishal started his own production company — Vishnu Vishal Studioz. “After Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu , my career floundered a bit, but I quickly brought it back on rails by working on a slew of good movies. I launched my company, and the first film, Velainu Vandhutta Vellaikaaran , to concrete my position as a commercially-viable hero. I am now awaiting the completion of the second film, Katha Nayagan ,which in my view, will take me a few notches higher to stardom,” reveals Vishnu Vishal. The just-launched Production No 3, with Regina Cassandra as the heroine, will be a complete family entertainer.
