Krishna, alias, Srinagar Kitty, like some child actors, grew up to play the lead in Kannada and Tamil (Iruvar Mattum) films. He was nominated for the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting actor in Hudugaru, where he shared the screen with the late Puneeth Rajkumar.

The actor has worked with the likes of Rakshit Shetty (Simple Agi Ondh Love story), Shivaraj Kumar (Bhajarangi) and Bhavana (Inthi Ninna Preethyia). He won the Filmfare Special Jury Award for Savaari, directed by Jacob Verghese. Srinagar Kitty is creating waves with his look for his latest film Gowli, the poster of which was launched recently.

Soora makes his directorial debut with Gowli, which also features Rangayana Raghu, Sharath Lohitashwa among others. “It is a wonderful feeling and I am happy that the look was so well received. Working with the cast and crew of the film has been a huge professional treat. Gowli has a rural setting.”

The actor has donned the producers cap for the Kannada film, Tony. On if he would try his hand at direction, Srinagar Kitty says with a laugh, “First I need to master the skill of acting. So I think it is best that a person adept at the craft do the honours.”

Srinagar Kitty says that the film will be ready in three months. The team is planning for a theatrical release, “We have to wait and watch how things fall in place. The world is opening up after two years and we do not want films cramming up the theatres or shoving the other to get ahead. This is a time to live and let live. We need to focus on growing as a community, as an industry. No one knows what the morrow holds for each of us.”

Srinagar Kitty says with the OTT boom, one has to think of making stories that will reach far and wide. “That also means we come up with good content.”
