Music highlights

The album has five songs, with the best ‘Enthan Thalaiyil,’ sung by Harish Raghavendra and Madhumitha and written by Snehan. The same lyricist’s ‘Deepavali,’ sung by Anand, is good. ‘Pathika Vacha’ is a fine number sung by Krishna Iyer and written by Kavinpa. Vijayan has rendered ‘Kuruchi Kallakuruchi’ by the same lyricist well. ‘Nanthan Nee Kaetta Mapillai,’ rendered by Krishna Iyer and Anuradha Sriram and written by Snehan, is pleasant.

What they say…

Producer Ravirajan: I have been waiting for a good break in the industry for 20 years. When I met my old friend Thiruvengadam, he introduced his son T. Samidurai, who was trying to direct a film. Samidurai not only let me produce this film but also gave me a chance to play the villain in it. The film has come out well.

Director T. Samidurai: I used to watch two to three films a day while in college. After graduation, when I failed to get a break in the film industry, I started making short films. I worked as an assistant to directors Raghava Lawrence and Manoj Kumar. It was then I met producer Ravirajan. He liked the script of Kurumbukara Pasanga and the rest fell into place in no time.

Hero Sanjeev: I used to participate in dance programmes. When I was doing a reality show on Kalaignar TV, I was spotted by directors who wanted me to work in their films. That’s how I ended up acting in Kulir 100 Degrees, Neeyum Naanum, Saghakkal and now Kurumbukara Pasanga . This film will surely make me a known face in the industry. I am currently working on Nanbargal Kavanathirkku.

Music director Arul Raj: Born in Reddypalayam in Thiruvallur District, I had my schooling at Pannur, 8 km away. As I was interested in music, I learnt to play the guitar from Jagadish, Venkatesh and Abdul Sattar. After finishing my Grade 8 in Western Classical guitar, I worked for six months at the Dhanraj Music School run by maestro Ilaiyaraja.
