Malar returns

Janani Iyer, who is awaiting the release of her upcoming film Thollaikaatchi, says that she has been choosy when it comes to picking roles. “This is why I have been able to sustain myself in the industry.”

She has now teamed up with Rameez Raja in

Ultaa , directed by Vijai Balaji. “In

Ultaa , a psychological comedy, I play Divya, a character with different shades. This is in contrast to my role in

Thollaikaatchi ; I play a village girl called Malar, wearing

pavaadai and

dhavani . I have a few more films in the pipeline,” she says.

Fired up

Debutant director Krishna Sai’s film Aalukku Paadhi , slated for release in late May, deals with how people are unable to change their lifestyles even when faced with adversities. “Those who are used to a luxurious lifestyle, find it hard to cope when they lose their job. Some take to crime to compensate for their sudden loss of income,” says Krishn. Sethu ( Valeba Raja ) and Shruthi Ramakrishnan ( Kavalai Vendam ) play the lead roles in this film, which has music by Dharan.

Jupiter ascending

∝Satish Jupiter, is extremely excited about the role he has played in upcoming film Ko 2 . “I play an ADGP in the film. Essaying the role was fulfilling, as I have great respect for the police department,” says Satish, who runs an event management company and has previously appeared in cameos in a few Tamil films.
