India’s oldest Youtuber Karre Mastanamma, whose YouTube cooking channel Country Foods has over 12 lakh subscribers, passed away in Gudiwada, her native village near Tenali in Guntur district on Tuesday.

She was 107.

She became a YouTube sensation when videos on recipes like Watermelon Chicken posted by her grandson K. Laxman, a graphic designer, went viral. The Watermelon Chicken video has over 11.9 millions views.

Admirers on Tuesday posted on YouTube videos of Mastanamma’s last journey and her burial on the outskirts of her village.

Born as Martamma in Kopale village, she was adopted by a Muslim family after her father died when she was eleven and renamed Mastanamma. Mastanamma lost her husband when she was 22. She also lost four of her five children. She lived separately in a house adjacent to the house of her sole living son David.

She became a star after her grandson posted videos of her preparing some dishes on YouTube in August 2016.

Most of the videos that are now available on Youtube were posted about a year ago.
