Trump meets with Finnish President
United States President Donald Trump is meeting with the Finnish President ahead of his summit with Russia’s Vladimir Putin. Mr. Trump has arrived at the the Mantyniemi Residence in Helsinki, where he and first lady Melania Trump were greeted by President Sauli Niinisto and his wife. The leaders were seen surveying the view from a small balcony before sitting down for breakfast. Trump will then be returning to his hotel before heading to the presidential palace for his highly anticipated talks with Putin. Finland has a long legacy of hosting US-Soviet and US-Russian summits due to its geographic location and perceived neutrality. - AP
Fresh batch of pilgrims leave for Amarnath shrine
A fresh batch of nearly 2,500 pilgrims on Monday left for the cave shrine of Amarnath in south Kashmir Himalayas, officials said. The yatra commenced from the twin tracks of Baltal in Ganderbal and Pahalgam in Anantnag district on June 28. Till Sunday evening, 1,87,375 pilgrims had visited the cave shrine to pay obeisance.
Mourners attend funeral for former Thai diver
A funeral was held on Monday for Samarn Poonan, a former member of Thailand's elite navy SEAL unit, who died during the rescue operation to save 12 boys and their soccer coach trapped inside a flooded cave complex. Mr. Poonan died on July 6 while installing oxygen tanks along the twisting passageways of the cave.

Rains send Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu
The Karnataka government had released water from the Kabini and Krishnaraja Sagar reservoirs owing to copious rains in the Cauvery catchment areas. Following the discharge of about 90,000 cusecs of water by Karnataka from its dams, the authorities in Salem and Dharmapuri districts on Sunday issued a flood warning to people residing in low-level areas along the banks of the Cauvery at Biligundlu, the entry point into Tamil Nadu. The level in the Mettur dam rose by about four feet in the last 24 hours that ended 8 a.m. on Sunday.
