Three more persons were hospitalised in the district on Monday after testing positive for H1N1, taking the total cases in Coimbatore to seven. They are relatives of a 73-year-old man from Saibaba Colony who had tested positive a few days ago. The three were tested as a precautionary measure .
According to officials, those tested positive now are three women aged 80 years, 57 years and 65 years. Condition of the 80-year old woman alone is being closely monitored taking into account her age. They are undergoing treatment at the exclusive H1N1 ward of the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital.
The Health Department is administering prophylactic treatment to all the relatives and those who came in contact with H1N1 patients. Further, they have sprayed disinfectants in their residences.
