A “jagran” was held ‘peacefully’ at the makeshift temple, “Mata ki Chowki”, in Trilokpuri on Friday in the presence of a large number of policemen. A feast will be organised on Saturday morning after which “Mata ki Chowki” will be removed.

Balraj Kumar Talwar, one of the organisers of the “jagran”, said: “We have permission from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. But it might be stretched a bit.”

“The residents had requested us for permission to hold a “jagran”. We assessed the situation. We relaxed the prohibitory orders and gave permission for the gathering,” said a senior police officer.
