Services on the Delhi Metro’s Magenta Line were temporarily halted on Sunday after a bird collapsed on the tracks near the Kalindi Kunj metro station, said officials of Wildlife SOS.

The officials suspected that the bird had flown out of the Okhla Bird Sanctuary.

Wasim Akram, manager, Wildlife SOS special projects, said: “The Indian cormorant is under mandated medical observation to ensure it recuperates safely from the ordeal.”

The bird was rescued after Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) officials alerted about the bird which was struggling to fly, following which the NGO dispatched a team.

Monkey spotted

On Monday, commuters on the Pink Line were taken by surprise when a monkey entered the new Azadpur metro station around 11.30 a.m.
