The body of a 24-year-old pregnant woman, who had gone missing from her house in Greater Noida’s Bisrakh on Sunday night, was found stuffed inside a suitcase in Indirapuram, Ghaziabad, on Tuesday night.
‘Dowry demand’
The victim’s family has accused her husband and in-laws for murdering her over not fulfilling dowry demands. The police have registered an FIR against five people, who are all absconding.

The police said that the woman, Mala, used to give tuitions at home. She had gone missing from her house on Sunday and her body was found two days later stuffed in a suitcase, which was thrown in a drain. The family had lodged a missing person complaint at Bisrakh police station.
“We got information that a woman’s body was lying stuffed in a suitcase in a drain in Kanwani, Indirapuram. We reached the spot and found that she had been stuffed with her hands and legs tied. The body was taken into custody and police stations of nearby districts were ordered to trace her identity,” said Dharmendra Chauhan, Deputy Superintendent of police (Ghaziabad).
The victim’s family members reached Indirapuram police station and the woman was identified with the help of her anklet, said the police. The body has been sent for post-mortem.

Five months’ pregnant
The victim’s kin have alleged that it’s not only their daughter who was killed but also the five-month-old baby she was carrying.
“We have registered a case under Section 304B (dowry death) of the Indian Penal Code against the husband, his two brothers and his parents. All the five are absconding. Teams have been formed to nab them,” said Akhilesh Tripathi, Station House Officer of Bisrakh police station.
Mala had a love marriage with Shivam, a salesman in DLF mall, in November 2017. She lived with her husband at a rented house in Bisrakh.
The two had met through Facebook.
