Delhi got its third Dilli Haat on Sunday at Janakpuri. Spread over 9.8 acres, the Jankapuri Delhi Haat, which will host art exhibitions and stalls from craftsmen from all over the country, is bigger than the existing two Dilli Haats at INA and Pitampura. It has been developed by the Delhi Tourism at a cost of Rs.120 crore.
On Sunday, the Haat was inaugurated by Parvesh Sahib Singh, Member of Parliament from West Delhi. “This new venue will be showcasing the country’s craft and cultural tradition and will be an open air shopper’s paradise, which will be a one-stop destination for art, craft, and music and food lovers,” said Mr. Singh. He was accompanied by Member of Legislative Assembly Jagdish Mukhi, Councillor Rajni Mamtani, and Delhi Government Secretary (Tourism) Rinku Dhugga.
Dr. Mukhi said Janakpuri Dilli Haat is one of the finest complexes in West Delhi and will be known as a cultural hub of the city shortly.

It has a provision of 100 craft stalls, 74 open-platform shops and 46 shops. It will have 14 food stalls with varieties of food from across the country and 15 food stalls serving cuisines from around the world.
The cultural hub includes a 960-sq m exposition hall, an A.C. auditorium with a capacity of 800 seats and an amphitheatre with a capacity of 820 seats for cultural events. Additionally, the Haat has an 80-bed dormitory and will have 24x7 power back up.
The new Haat has been developed with a number of eco-friendly features and is fully differently-abled friendly. The nearest metro station to reach Dilli Haat Janakpuri is Tilak Nagar or Janakpuri metro station. The ticket is priced at Rs.10 (adults) and entry for children (below 12 years) is free. It will remain open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
