Rani Jhansi grade separator to be inaugurated

On October 16; project was originally slated to be completed in 2010

After several missed deadlines, the much-delayed Rani Jhansi grade separator will be opened to the public from October 16, the North Delhi Municipal Corporation said in a press release on Thursday.

1.6-km flyover

The 1.6-km flyover, which starts near St. Stephen’s Hospital and runs till Filmistan Cinema was originally slated to be completed in 2010.

North Mayor Adesh Gupta inspected the construction on Thursday and said that the corporation faced a lot of challenges in the construction of the separator but it was finally ready for the public. It is expected to ease the flow of traffic between ISBT Kashmere Gate and Karol Bagh, he also said.

Union Urban Development Minister Hardeep Puri is expected to commission the construction in the presence of other Ministers and the Lieutenant-Governor among others, the release also stated.
