Recognising the need to train and upgrade talent spotters of the IT industry in line with the global requirements, a new pan-India forum was launched in the city by IT and ITeS Sector Skill Council (SSC) of NASSCOM.

The real and virtual platform called “Talent Acquisition Professionals’ Forum”, supported by TalentSprint, will deal with adopting best practises, networking, building and managing talent brand, interview skills, and recruitment strategy besides others. The programme is aimed at contributing significantly to the organisational productivity.

According to NASSCOM representatives, there are about 30,000 talent acquisition professionals in the country in IT and BPM (Business Process management) sector who play a major role in the success of their organisations. They also cited studies to show that the companies who focus on recruitment processes have more revenue growth compared to their peers who do not.

The forum was launched by NASSCOM Chairman B.V.R. Mohan Reddy, who urged the industry to adopt NASSCOM’s SSC recommendations for at least 10 per cent recruitments this year. Santana Paul, MD and CEO of TalentSprint said that the talent acquisition professionals will be invited to join the one-of-a-kind community who will be given upgradation training by the NASSCOM members and its partners.

Similarly, the NASSCOM is also proposing its Qualification Pack programmes for students who are on the verge of graduating from colleges.

According to Sandhya Chintala, Vice-President, NASSCOM, they have tied up with TASK (Telangana Academy for School and Knowledge) in the State to train third year and final year engineering students in various skills.

She informed that by 2017, more than five lakh graduating students will undergo NASSCOM certified Qualification Pack programmes which covers a range of topics right from soft skills to cyber security.

The forum will deal with adopting best practises, networking, building and managing talent brand, interview skills, and recruitment strategy
