Rallabandi Kavitha Prasad passes away

Rallabandi Kavitha Prasad (53), a Joint Director in the Social Welfare Department and a former Director of Culture for Telangana, died here on Sunday evening at a corporate hospital. He is survived by wife Nagini and sons Ramakoteswara Raju and Samvaran.

His family said he had suffered a massive cardiac seizure about a month ago and with three valves found blocked, doctors at a corporate hospital here put him on ventilator. Even as they were considering bypass procedure, both kidneys failed. The end for Rallabandi, as he was popularly called in cultural and literary circles, came on Sunday evening.

Among the first to react were Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and YSR Congress president Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy. They recalled Rallabandi’s contribution to enriching the flavour of Telugu culture and literature and conveyed his condolences to the bereaved family flavours.
